That’s me in a nutshell.

Here are 25 Random Facts About Me.

A few of my favorite things:

Color: Blue. I once read that’s 80% of people’s favorite. I hate to go with the majority like that, but in this case it’s truly my favorite. If I’m trying to be different though, I’ll say bluish green.

Films: Beauty and the Beast (I’ll take either Disney’s 1991 film, or Jean Cocteau’s 1946 version), When Harry Met Sally, It Happened One Night, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Somewhere in Time, Singin’ in the Rain, Gaslight, Rebecca, The Red Shoes,

Television: Reruns of Friends, Frasier, Coupling, As Time Goes By, and the Vicar of Dibley. For some reason I write well to sitcom reruns. Go figure. Other than that some favorite shows include, Outlander, Beauty and the Beast (original 80’s series thankyouverymuch! I can get opinionated about these things), Battlestar Galactica, Damages,  Fringe the tragically short lived Wonderfalls, and My So-Called Life,

Books: How much time do you have?! What genre are we talking about? *Takes a deep breath* Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Emma, Rebecca, Outlander, The Bronze Horseman, Never Let Me Go, Fingersmith, Room, Anne of Green Gables, Emily of New Moon, The Stolen Child, Atonement, Reading Lolita in Tehran, I Capture the Castle, The Bloody Chamber, The Handmaid’s Tale

Authors: The Bronte Sister (all 3), Jane Austen, Daphne DuMaurier, Diana Gabaldon, LM Montgomery, JK Rowling, Ian McEwan,  Kazuo Ishiguro, Angela Carter, Keith Donohue, Libba Bray, Neil Gaiman, Juliet Marillier, Joan Didion, Joyce Carol Oates, Margaret Atwood

Music: Here is where my geekery is on full display. I love musicals. With a passion. I love the big stuff like Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon etc.  I love more contemporary hits like Spring Awakening and Hamilton. But my heart lies with classics like West Side Story, and more recent works of genius like the works of Stephen Sondheim (Passion is my favorite, even among musical geeks I’m weird!) and The Light in the Piazza. Yes, I do like more mainstream stuff. I like singers and songwriters like Adele, Birdy, Gabrielle Alpin, Damien Rice, The Swell Season, Sara Bareilles, Alison Sudol, and  James Morrison
